For over 15 years, the musicians behind Dubmones were part of Europe’s reggae, rocksteady and ska scene, sharing countless festival and club stages with renowned vocalists. Then life took us in different directions. Ten years later, in 2025, we found our way back to each other through music, without big plans or expectations, but united by what had always connected us beneath it all: the love for dub, punk and related.

What began with conversations, recordings and rehearsals grew into an album featuring old vocal collaborators, and a return to selected festivals across Europe.

Our little film is a story about friendship, the power of music and the magic of rediscovering a shared passion. In 2027, we’ll bring our punk interpretations to European festival stages, following the spring release of a six-track EP.

For now, dive into the full documentary, link in bio. Maybe our story will spark your curiosity, and we’ll see you somewhere on the road next year.

No B-sides here, we’re all about the flipsides. Besides the remix we recently shared, @philipp_greter (aka Greter Than Dub) also cooked up a proper deep dub version for our latest release. Wicked! Lean back, turn up the volume, and let that bass roll.

Can you feel the punch?

Punk, dub and jazz have always shared a special bond. So when Kameel, currently our favourite “anarcho”-jazz band from Belgium, asked us to reinterpret their classic “TONNY”, we didn’t have to think twice. We dove right in, letting our inspiration run wild with all the energy we had.

// **..we’ll tear the roof off, don’t miss this! ** // @thebeat, @rankingjnr and the @dubmones share a long-standing friendship, and this Friday they’re joining forces to leave nothing but ashes behind at this year’s @freedom_sounds festival: Dubmones mixing The Beat!

👉🏼 For years, Dubmones toured from festival to festival with their previous project “dubXanne” alongside their friend Ranking Roger (RIP). Back then, a young Ranking Jnr would occasionally be there too, long before he later began regularly sharing the stage with his father. That friendship continues to this day: Dubmones produced a version of “Carry The Flag,” Junior’s first musical response to his loss, and at the same time a powerful tribute to his dad and our friend. Dubmones also stepped in now and then to mix for The Beat on their European tour when Roger was still alive, sharing weeks of cramped space and constant laughter in that infamous white, rusty UK van as they traveled from country to country. We remember Roger going completely nuts every time there was a German sign on the highway saying ‘Ausfahrt.’ Even though Roger has passed away, the friendship among the crews still holds strong, and this Friday it finally happens again: Dubmones will provide The Beat a sound that truly packs a punch. For those in the know, this collaboration is a highlight. as it is for us. It all kicks off Friday at 11:55 pm on the main stage of the Freedom Sounds Festival. We’d be very surprised if anyone in the crowd is still standing after The Beat’s headlining show this friday…

We were asked, and even before the question was finished, we confirmed. Working with another, such iconic voice... - that’s the kind of chance we always take. Even though the tune is finished now, you’ll have to wait a bit longer: it’s coming out via @echobeachlife for @recordstoreday in April 2026. Vinyl! And limited. No worries though, we’ll have quite a few more releases lined up until then. Have a good week everyone! 📷 by @benhammer_

Never not making music. It’s been a bit quieter here recently, but we’re as productive as ever - tunes keep flowing. We’re preparing a substantial number of releases for the period between now, soon and spring 2026, just in time for an extensive summer festival season. Model Monday it is! Here’s another little snapshot from one of our recent gigs. When the audience asked for more and we had no songs left, a small detour turned into a full-blown jam that evening. The sound you’re hearing is coming straight from the keyboard wedge - there isn’t even any front-of-house dub mix to be heard. And yet, even on stage, our sound never runs dry. What a night it was! #dubmones #dub #rocksteady #echobeach #Ramones
